Getting Ready

Every great day starts with the preparations; have a photographer on hand at one or both of the getting ready locations to capture your wedding story from the moment you start getting ready.

Capture the excitement and anticipation of the day ahead - the smell of flowers fills the room along with a huge cloud of hairspray, shoes flying in all directions… and we're not just talking about the girls!

Ceremony

Weddings come in all different shapes and sizes; we have photographed ceremonies with as little as 5 guests and some with over 300 guests; from modern, sleek hotels to historic castles.

Every wedding will unite two people who love each other and have chosen to share their lives together. With the exchanging of rings, promises made and celebrating the moment with their closest family and friends, a new chapter begins.

Group Photos

Group photos usually take place straight after the ceremony. Our process ensures they go quickly, smoothly and nobody is left out. We will work with you in advance to arrange the photos - being organised really pays off on the day.

Formal group photographs are the most traditional form of wedding photography dating back to the 1800's. Although technology has helped evolve wedding photography immensely, the traditional group shots still form a major part of most wedding albums.

Couple Portraits

Your first official photographs as newly-weds! After the group photos, explore the grounds of your venue and spend some time together away from the hubbub of your guests.

This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Create time in your schedule for your guests to enjoy canapes whilst you take a moment or two for yourselves. We'll capture natural, beautiful portraits of you both - sure to be Instagram worthy and treasured forever!

Confetti Shot

Confetti is so pretty and colourful, it makes for dynamic photos. Traditionally thrown to grant wealth and fertility to the couple; today it adds to the celebration and creates great pictures.

Most venues prefer bio-degradable petals and they may ask that it happens in a specific location. Top tip: make sure you have enough for a picture perfect shot by supplying it yourselves.

Drinks Reception

It's time to relax and grab a drink! Many couples choose to include lawn games and/or other activities for their guests during the drinks reception. A fantastic opportunity for candid photos.

At some point we will dip away to get photos of the reception room, table settings and other details you have included, but will be on hand for those informal group shots of friends who haven't seen each other for years.

Speeches

Those making speeches have put a lot of time and effort into what they are going to say and are probably very nervous. One speech can provide both laughter and tears - it’s a lovely element to include in your photographs.

We love hearing all of the different best man speeches (and maid of honour) that re-tell funny and memorable moments from the couple's past. We’ve even been known to shed a tear or two.

Cutting of the Cake

Over time, the tradition of cutting the cake has evolved and is rich in symbolism. Did you know, the hand of the groom is placed over the hand of the bride when cutting the cake to symbolise his support for her? Now you do!

Wedding cakes are becoming increasingly creative; we have seen a really diverse range in recent years - another detail that you will definitely want to remember once it’s gone!

First Dance

For many, the first dance is the event they’ve been dreading all day, for others, they have lovingly choreographed a dance to entertain their guests and can’t wait! Either way, it’s an intimate moment as you dance to ‘your’ song.

Different cultures celebrate wedding dances in various ways. For example, at Greek weddings the guests pin money on the brides dress, while many Jewish weddings see the newly-weds lifted up on chairs for a traditional dance called the Hora.

Evening Reception

The hard part is over; you can lose the tie and put your flip-flops on – it’s time for some fun! Your guests are relaxing, having a great time as the food and drink is served and getting in the mood for a celebration you’ll never forget.

This is a perfect recipe for lively, natural images with genuine smiles all round.
