Lauren and Luca’s DIY dream wedding at Prested Hall
Their wedding took place on a beautiful summer’s day at Prested Hall, a historic hotel in Essex that has become an exclusive wedding venue. It was a celebration of love and family, with their children playing a central role in the proceedings.
Lauren has an interest in photography and has previously studied it herself, so she valued having two photographers present on the day, to ensure no moment was missed.
It was an absolute joy to join Lauren, Luca and their family for their wedding celebration at Prested Hall.
Getting Ready
The morning of the wedding was a flurry of excitement, with Lauren surrounded by her entourage of bridesmaids, flower girls, and family. As we had previously met a couple of months prior at their engagement portrait session, Lauren warmly welcomed me in, and I was able to get stuck in straight away, capturing the bustling activity.
Sarah, our second photographer, joined Luca and the guys at the cottage for fun photos of their final preparations.

The Ceremony
There were lots of children involved in the wedding party - it was one of the cutest I think I've seen. But their son, played an all-important role of walking his mum down the aisle. Can he BE any cuter? Well yes actually - they got creative with the traditional role of 'ring bearer' and instead their son was 'ring security'. He wore sunglasses and even had an official security badge!
The standout moment for me though (or perhaps of all time) was when the registrar thought their son had the rings and said 'a special little boy is looking after the rings - can you bring them up', and the best man silently steps forward. It was comedy gold; I still chuckle every time I see the pictures.

The Portraits
Prested Hall is a photographers dream when it comes to the couple's portraits. We were able to make use of three different spots to create a variety of photos for their collection, without having to wander far at all. Every direction you turn are stunning views.
Lauren's vibrant energy contrasted Luca's quiet confidence - together, they make the perfect team. But I particularly love it when the wedding party are ready for some fun photos too.

The Reception
Upon entering the marquee for the BBQ buffet, guests were greeted with wooden heart place cards, each meticulously lasered by Lauren herself, adding a personal touch to every table. I even got one with a camera etched into it - so cute, I still have it to this day.
Lauren's creative flair and attention to detail were evident in every aspect of the celebration. From the personalised touches decorating the venue to the heartfelt tributes honouring loved ones who could not be there in person - every detail was a reflection of their love for their family and friends.
