Wedding Venue Review: Talbooth House and Spa
A luxury country house venue for your wedding
Maison Talbooth is a luxury country house designed to provide intimate, stylish weddings. The hotel is an ideal choice for smaller celebrations, with a maximim capactity of 40 guests. It aims to provide nothing but the most picturesque and peaceful setting for your closest family and friends.
Where you say I Do
There are a few options as to where the ceremony can be hosted but for a ceremony bathed in natural light, the garden room serves as an idyllic choice. There isn’t much space for the photographer to move around, so it’s best we stay in one place and document your vows from the front.
The Grounds
The stunning views of Constable’s Countryside and the Dedham Vale provide the perfect backdrop to the Pool House, separate from the main building. The Pool House is a wonderful space for a drinks reception and a time to capture those natural shots of your guests mingling and relaxing. Although the grounds of Maison Talbooth are relatively small in comparison to some other wedding venues, it doesn’t lack in quality or opportunity. There are gorgeous photo prospects tucked away in plenty of corners, throughout both the house and gardens.
Dancing the night away
The Garden Room of the main hotel gives you a versatile space for your wedding day. This lovely, light area of the house can host the wedding breakfast and later, the evening reception for when the party really gets going. If you select a DJ or band for the wedding festivities, they can come in and transform the whole space into one large dance floor. There is even the option of throwing open the terrace doors and extending the party out onto the patio.

We at Mae Photography really recommend the Talbooth House and Spa as a wedding venue if you are looking for an intimate space that is elegant, glamorous and versatile. Due to the rooms available on-site, you can arrive in time to start getting ready, enjoy your wedding breakfast and reception drinks and stay until it’s time to collapse into bed! On top of all your wedding necessities, Talbooth House and Spa even provides you with use of the pool and tennis courts the next day (if you have any energy left…). There is ample onsite parking and such exquisite views to be enjoyed. Talbooth House and Spa holds a civil wedding licence for a maximum of 40 guests but note, you’ll need to arrange for your own registrar to attend to perform the ceremony.
