Bridal Suite
The bridal suite at Marks Hall is a fantastic space for preparations the morning of your wedding. It is large enough for all your bridesmaids to get ready together, it has it’s own kitchen and is literally next door to the main venue.
We love the neutral decor and large windows of the bridal suite as this is perfect for natural wedding photography. The built in beauty bar with mirrors and lights are a fun addition and make for great photos too!
Outdoor Ceremony
An outdoor ceremony in the summer months (or even autumn if you can brave it) is a must at Marks Hall. And there are even two options to choose from. The beautifully landscaped courtyard has a gazebo where you say your vows and space for 100 guests to join you. Alternatively, if you’re looking for a more boho style, hire the tipi and tie the knot in the woodland area.
Outdoor wedding ceremonies are an ideal way to use natural light for natural photos of your day.
Barn Wedding Venue
The Coach House is a blank slate that you have full control over how to decorate. Hang fabric from the rafters or fill the space with fairy lights so you can create a unique look for your wedding at Marks Hall.
Being a barn wedding venue with no windows at the back, it is quite dark. This means we will need to use flash inside to maintain clear, crisp photos that you see here. This isn’t a problem at all, just something to be aware of.
Generous Grounds
All of the grounds of Marks Hall are available to you, which is amazing. During the drinks reception and after the meal your guests can stroll through the gardens and enjoy the views. For your portraits you get to go further afield in a golf buggy to maximise the stunning landscapes on offer.
This Colchester wedding venue, has a large lake, multiple bridges, woodland areas and manicured gardens. Every direction you turn are stunning views, perfect for your natural wedding photography.

Securing your wedding photographer should ideally follow once your venue and caterers are booked. Due to high demand, we encourage you to reach out as early as possible, as our schedule tends to fill up quickly—sometimes up to two years in advance.
That said, we have a soft spot for intimate, last-minute weddings and are more than willing to accommodate these with just a few months' notice. Whatever your timeline, we're here to capture your day beautifully.
